My name is Will Meagher and I am a 23 year old graphic designer located in Rockport MA. I graduated from Endicott College in Beverly MA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design.

I am currently working as a graphic designer/sales associate for Joe's Fresh Fish Prints in Salem, Gloucester, and Rockport MA.
My boss Joe practices a Japanese print technique called "gyotaku". The word "gyotaku" translates from Japanese as "gyo" meaning "fish" and "taku" meaning "rubbing."
This method of printmaking substitutes a fish for the traditional printing plate. The gyotaku that he practices uses the direct method. First, ink is applied to the fish, then paper is placed over it, and a rubbing is made. Finally, the paper is pulled off, leaving the impression of the fish.
After the impression is made, the fish is washed off and becomes someone's meal. he completes the print with his signature and custom framing.
